I went to the library on Saturday and was looking through a few books on 1920s design when I came across some references to the 'Wiener Werkstätte', an Austrian production community set up in 1903 to produce products that combined fine craftsmanship with modern design. Whilst searching for images on the internet for my blog, I came across a young designer called Selma Lamai who produced a series of prints and garments inspired by the Wiener Werkstätte for Autumn/Winter 2011. I really like her casual patterned garments, I'd like my collection to have a similar feel; simple shapes with bold prints.
